The Mayfair, Bed and breakfast in Weymouth

Just a couple of minutes walk from our front door

The Mayfair is in a superb location, with many of Weymouth’s attractions just a couple of minutes walk from our front door. We are positioned on Weymouth’s Georgian Esplanade, overlooking the main beach. Along The Esplanade are many popular restaurants and shops. Parking is available nearby, and the Railway Station is just a few minutes walk from the front door. There are numerous pubs in town – the closest are just two minutes walk away.

Between 5 and 10 minutes walk

You haven’t got to walk far to see some of the great things that Weymouth has to offer. From energetic shopping to a relaxing drink down by the harbour where you can watch the world go by. It’s no real hardship not having a car, as there is so much to do right on your doorstep. Why not travel by train? The station is two minutes walk around the corner!

About 15 minutes walk

If you look out of the window from our resident’s lounge, you will have a beautiful view of Weymouth Bay, and The Jurassic Coastline, stretching around to Lulworth Cove and Swanage beyond. On the other side you can see the entrance to the harbour with the Pavilion theatre, and on the other side of the harbour, the Nothe Gardens and Fort. Hope Square is nearby too. In the Summer, there is a little ferry that can take foot passengers to the other side. It saves you walking around to the bridge, and great value at £1!

For local wildlife, why not visit?

This area of South Dorset has other visitors too. There is a really good RSPB shop at Radipole Lake, just next to the Swannery car park. A short walk along the Sea Front from here will take you to The Sea life Park and Lodmoor Country Park. There is lots to see and do there with a skate park and go karts nearby as well.

A little further away, these are also very popular places to visit

If you would like to explore a bit further afield, then these are some of the popular places that previous guests have visited. There is public transport for most of them, and a ferry service that runs from Weymouth harbour to Portland Castle.

A selection of Sports and Activities

If you are looking for a bit more action, then some of the following will help to use up that extra energy. There’s always something to do, and these are right on the doorstep!
